2016 Summer Beer List Another summer has landed here on the West coast and it’s shaping up to be extremely busy for the EDB team. There’s work, seafood festivals, pop-ups, bike trips to various places on the island and mainland plus visits with friends, family and all manner of industry establishments all packed into the next two and a half months. Whew!

To offset all this madness it’s important to always set aside a few moments of calm here and there to unwind the mind and body… And crack open a craft beer! *Ksssssht*Yes! Once again it’s time to have a look back at my favourite BC brews of the spring and forward to the bombers I’ll be savouring all summer long.

Last month’s weekends were pretty gross weather-wise, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time indoors tuning up my bike, working on some secret online projects (bacon anyone?) and watching a lot of food documentaries on Netflix.

These movies generally come in two types: The ones that dig deep into a localized corner of the culinary world and celebrate it and the ones that show you the horrors of the modern industrial food complex and make you wish you weren’t born into this cruel world. Read More

Eat Drink Trees

Over the last four years and nearly two hundred posts, Eat|Drink|Breathe has evolved in many ways, but not visually. The old green ‘n black, three-column format that was ever so popular back in the early ‘aughts desperately needed an update. Something that represented where we’re at now… Maybe something a little more Zen.

Luckily I know a very pretty lady with a lot of web design smarts and patience enough to put up with (and fix) every aesthetic monkey wrench I throw at her. Crystal simplified the layout to make it easier for visitors to navigate around (especially on their phones) and made the comment box more user friendly. We stuck to simple black ‘n white to highlight the photos and keep things clean. I painted a new, ensō-inspired logo and stuck on a button that links to my beloved Pinterest account.

So yeah, have a poke around and let us know what you think of Eat | Drink | Breathe Version 2.0.
